Rusty Guns Kennel is dedicated to the improvement of the German Shorthaired Pointer. The intent of this contract is to assure that the dogs produced from this kennel will receive appropriate care and will be protected from indiscriminate breedings, so that the outstanding qualities of health and versatility are enhanced. It is to be recognized that this litter represents many years of careful breeding and is considered to be of extreme value both to the Stud owner and to the Bitch owner.

The above named individuals have agreed to breed the above named dogs and hereby agree as follows:
1) The stud fee payable from the owner of the bitch to the owner of the dog shall be _____________. The fee shall be payable in full prior to the mating of the dogs.
2) If two (2) or more live puppies’ result from the breeding, the owner of the dog will retain the full stud fee and this constitutes a successful breeding. If one or less puppies result from the breeding, a repeat breeding shall be arranged with no additional stud fee. This does not include transportation or veterinarian cost. If a repeat breeding is arranged, the bitch shall be subject to progesterone timing tests at the cost to the owner of the bitch.
3) The owner of the bitch shall transport the bitch to a location near the owner of the stud at a mutually agreeable time and place.
4) The owner of the dog and the owner of the bitch shall have their dogs examined by a veterinarian and determined to be free from all diseases and in particular tested for Brucellosis(Kennel Cough). Written results to such health examination from the veterinarian will be distributed within 30 days prior to the breeding. Each party will pay of its dog’s examination.
5) If the owner of the bitch does not accompany the bitch, she will be shipped to an agreeable location and boarded with the owner of the dog. If the owner of the bitch prefers alternative boarding, the bitch will be shipped to a mutually agreed location. After breeding, the bitch will be returned to the owner of the bitch. The cost of shipping, boarding (if not with the owner of the dog) and return of the bitch shall be borne by the owner of the bitch.
6) The owner of the dog and owner of the bitch each warrant that they have no knowledge of any major or disqualifying faults as defined by the breed standard in their animals. In spite of any such knowledge, any puppy being produced from this breeding with a major or disqualifying fault will not be registered or permitted to be registered with the American Kennel Club or any other Kennel Club. The owner of the bitch will otherwise register the litter with the American Kennel Club and promote registration through NAVHDA to all puppy buyers.
7) The owner of the bitch shall provide contracts and health guarantees to all buyers of puppies that result from this breeding. No puppy will be sold/given to pet stores, laboratories, shelters puppy mills or any other in appropriate household. It is the responsibility of both owners to ensure the highest care in placing a RGK sired puppy. If any pup is found at any of these locations mentioned the owner of the stud dog would pay for the return of the puppy and be fully reimbursed by the owner of the bitch to include a $500 fine for careless placement within a 1-month time frame. This is valid throughout the life of the puppy.
8) Any pup found to have a disqualifying defect as described by the AKC breed standard, pup will be registered to AKC on a limited registration.
9) If frozen or chilled semen is used instead of a natural breeding, the owner of the bitch
will be responsible for all cost incurred with using one of these methods. If using frozen semen, an additional $100 will be added to the stud fee. If fresh/chilled semen is used the owner of the dog will be reimbursed for any costs relating to this method (i.e. collection, obtaining packaging and shipping) No additional costs will be absorbed by the owner of the stud dog.
10) If it is decided or agreed that the Stud Owner desires a puppy from this breeding, then the Dam owner shall allow the Stud owner to view the puppies and have second (2nd) choice of the litter. If this is agreed upon than 75% of the Stud fee in the amount of $______________shall be reimbursed to the Dam Owner.
We understand the contents of this contract and agree to the conditions.
