Rusty Guns Kennel is proud to feed and sell NATIVE Dog Food.  NATIVE performance dog food offers 5 different Levels of nutrition to the gun dog or active pet owner.  Each Level provides just the right amount of calories, protein, fat and carbs based on the dog's activity level or stage of life.....NATIVE has done the science, all you need to do is feed it.  Whether your dog is running 50 miles a day chasing pheasant, getting ready to whelp a litter of champions, or is in the golden years of life....NATIVE performance Dog Food has them covered. 

What we find absolutely fabulous is the ability to immediately switch your dog between levels, based on their individual nutritional needs due to activity levels or phase of life, and you can do so without the normal "phased over time" transition normally required to switch a dog from one food to another.  With the exception of Level 1, which is a Lamb & Rice blend for older dogs, Levels 2, 3, 4, & Level 3 Puppy are all  made using the same ingredients, the only difference between Levels 2-4 is the amount of Protein, Fat, carbs, and calories your dog gets from feeding the same amount of food!  Yep, you read that right...you can go from feeding your dog two cups of Level 2 twice a day in the off season to feeding them two cups of Level 4 twice a day during peak hunting season or periods of high activity, and you can do so without upsetting your dog's digestive system.  

With other dog foods, in order to get the amount of calories your dog needs during their peak activity, you either have to feed them more, or provide them with costly supplements.  Not with NATIVE....every bag of NATIVE dog food is priced exactly the same!  Yes, you are reading this correct....no kidding, gone are the days of switching your dogs food over a period of time or having to double or triple the amount they eat to prevent weight loss during periods of high activity, like pre-season training, or a 4 day hunt in S. Dakota.  With NATIVE, all you need to do is switch from LEVEL 2 or 3 to LEVEL 3 or 4....feed them the exact same amount you would normally feed and not pay a DIME MORE than you dd for the lower level. 

By feeding NATIVE, your dog is happy because it is getting all the nutrition and balanced diet it needs, at any performance level, and you are happy because you no longer have to sacrifice buying more shotgun shells (and lets face it, we all need more of those than we would like to admit) because your feed bill just went through the roof! 

I know what your thinking, "I'm still paying more, or the same, because now I have to maintain multiple Levels of food."  Well...that's not quite true....if your dog increases or decreases its activity level, simply feed them a little bit more or a little bit less until you run out of whatever level you're currently feeding, then, when its time to buy a new bag of food, simply purchase the higher or lower level as the situation dictates and go back to feeding the normal recommended amounts for your dogs size.

Recommended Feeding Levels:  All the following are "recommendations" only...talk with your vet and watch your dogs performance and weight as you feed each level.  If your dog begins to drop or add undesired weight, simply increase or decrease Level of NATIVE or the amount you are feeding as appropriate:

  LEVEL 1:  Conditions:  Normal exercise and stress with elevated activity 2-3 days a week.  Level 1 features a lamb formula and is recommended for large breed performance canines, those with lower activity levels, or those that maintain weight even when working regularly. Level 1 is also suitable for large breed puppies where there is a need to avoid rapid growth.
